Welcome back to the Two Wells Uniting Friends Group for 2026.
Pamela Duncan welcomed everyone present and accepted a few apologies, unfortunately, some not well and some away on holidays. Mollie then gave a very moving devotion from Matthew 28, and spoke about the meaning “I am with you always”.
Rae Wilson had previously done an agenda with each month’s date with an appropriate verse for each month. What was needed to be done at this meeting was to then try and fill each date with an idea of what each month can bring to this group.
Discussion arose about the November meeting which is usually the “Christmas Luncheon”, and everyone was in agreement to continue with supporting the Lower Light Hotel.
The March date was a little harder, as usually Uniting Friends celebrate with an Easter theme. After discussion it was decided to go ahead and meet at the Village Green on 19 March, still having an Easter theme and enjoy hot cross buns, with coffee etc, although Easter is not until 3-6 April.
The April meeting would be too late to celebrate Easter, so a trip down to Middle Beach for a picnic afternoon tea may be planned. A suggestion for May was to have a guest speaker (hopefully someone local), but we have changed to have our Cancer Council’s Biggest
Morning Tea in the afternoon, as has been for the last few years, helping to support the Cancer Council.
June maybe a “Movie” Afternoon in the hall. July may be the “special suest speaker”, already have thoughts on who it might be, so keep ears open!
A proposal to have a remembering “Back to School Days” afternoon some very interesting stories might be heard, for August, a theme day maybe for September-October?. By then it was time for afternoon tea, still plenty of time to think.
Of course these are only suggestions and if anyone has any great ideas, you are most welcome to contribute.
The next meeting date will be Thursday, 19 March so please feel welcome to come along and enjoy each others company at the Village Green, please bring a hat, water, chair and a friend or two.
Please contact Pamela Duncan 0409 002 201 for further information.
